So that got me thinking, what are other weird mascots?

Well of course the obvious: The UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs.

Then I came across the Frankfort Hot Dogs, in Frankfort, IN.

There are also the Fighting Pickles from the North Carolina School of the Arts You’d think that a school of the arts could come up with a better rendition of a fighting pickle (Or that they could be a little more creative with what their mascot even was, for that matter).

There are also the Sparkplugs, from Speedway High School in Indiana. Despite the fact that it kind of makes sense that they are the Sparkplugs (since they’re near the Indianapolis Motor Speedway of the Indy 500 race), it’s still a weird mascot.

Finally, though it may not be that weird, I do have to say that the Stanford mascot looks pretty bizarre. Stanford is officially the Cardinal (which I always thought would have been a bird), but their mascot is this crazy-looking tree.
